For Christ...Heart, Soul, Mind, Strength

Meet the Director

Kim Steele is the current Director of Cherry Hills Christian PreSchool and School-Age Care. Originally from San Diego, CA, she has lived in Colorado since 1999. Having been in the field of early childhood education for the last 16 years and an administrator for seven years, she has extensive experience in high-quality program development and quality ratings.

She served as the Assistant Director for 3 years before becoming Director.

As a teacher and/or an administrator she has been observed, assessed, and evaluated by three different entities; ACSI (Association for Christian Schools International), Qualistar, and NAEYC (The National Association for the Education of Young Children). Her last position involved rating programs from infants to school-age children for the state of Colorado. These experiences have taught her how valuable it is having multiple lenses to evaluate a program with. She believes the value of a continuous improvement process is needed to provide children with the best that can be offered! From having safe and stimulating environments, high impact language and vocabulary, and nurturing responsive relationships, she affirms that there is always room to both celebrate and improve practice.

Kim received a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of Denver where she was a Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program Fellow and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of CA, Irvine.

Her daughters attended the Elementary and Middle school, and one of them is excited to return as a 6th grader. She has been an active member of the church for over six years and has taught Sunday school, VBS, and a SKSK Dance clinic. She considers Cherry Hills her home and is excited to return working with such an exceptional Christ-centered staff! Receiving Christ at 19, her favorite Bible verse is from Ezekiel 36:26 “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
