Lower School

In Cherry Hills Christian's Lower School, your child will learn to have a heart to serve Jesus and others, a soul that desires a close relationship with the Lord, a mind that seeks to learn about God, His world and their purpose in it, and strength of character and community. It is our desire to partner with you in developing strong future leaders who make a difference for Christ in this world.

Biblical Worldview

  • We are highly intentional about spiritual formation in our students by integrating Biblical worldview throughout all subject areas and in all aspects of school life.
  • Students develop a Biblical worldview and are able to engage every aspect of life through the lens of Christ and his Word.
  • We partner with parents to ground students in God’s truth and raise spiritual champions.

  • The heart of Cherry Hills Christian is to serve God by helping others. Students at CHC grow in their awareness of the world around them and learn how to honor Christ by serving others.
  • Every grade level, kindergarten through fifth grade, has a mission focus population that students learn about and serve throughout the year.
  • Age-appropriate teaching and hands-on experiences are provided with the goal of students learning from an early age how and why we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Class Sizes

Enrichment Programs

  • Art – While integrating Biblical worldview and classroom curriculum into art projects, students learn about art history, elements of art, principles of design, and art from different cultures.
  • Library – Lessons are geared to prepare students for a future of reading and to help them become proficient information gatherers. Each week students check out books required for class and for reading enjoyment.
  • Music – The music curriculum teaches students to bring honor and glory to God through their musical expression and to develop basic musical skills. Students in each grade participate in one music program each year and students in grades 2-5 are also invited to participate in the Lower School Choir Club.
  • Physical Education – Our P.E. program is designed to help students develop positive attitudes toward participation in physical activity. Students learn about the principles of training and the importance of being physically fit and active.
  • Technology/S.T.E.A.M. Lab – Lower School students learn a variety of essential computer skills including navigation, typing, word processing, multi-media presentations and digital citizenship. Students also engage in hands-on learning experiences in our S.T.E.A.M. lab. Students are taught the Engineering Design Process to creatively solve a variety of challenges. They design, experiment, build and invent as they deeply engage in science, engineering, technology, art, robotics and math.
  • Before and After Care – Our program gives parents the peace of mind knowing that their children are engaged in safe, constructive activities provided in a Christian environment where students can learn, take part in supervised recreation, and build strong, positive relationships with teachers and peers.

Extracurricular Activities

  • Running Club – Research shows that physically fit students perform better academically. Exercise wakes up the body and increases brain function.
  • Choir Club – Students in second through fifth grades learn a variety of songs with choreography and have the opportunity to perform at several music programs throughout the school year.
  • After School Clubs – Every student is wonderfully and uniquely created by God with different gifts, talents and interests. We offer a variety of activities for students to explore such as Chess, Golf, Art, STEAM, and Book clubs.
